What is D-Limonene?Updated a year ago
By now, you may have noticed that some of our products here at GDR Labs display a strange looking (and sounding) component on the labels:
D-Limonene.
Aside from being nearly impossible to say (dee-lim.o.nene), this ingredient is truly spectacular and is part of our proprietary DualPloar™ extraction process.
Simply put from a chemistry standpoint, D-limonene is a hydrocarbon. However, here's where it gets interesting...
Hydrocarbons are used as solvents for many things, but generally speaking they are derived from petroleum, or oil. This makes using a standard hydrocarbon for extraction in foods... well, impossible, really.
So, when we found out that D-Limonene was an all natural terpene and derived from citrus fruits, we were very excited about its potential to say the least!
This is what gives some of our tincture products that signature citrus flavor, as well!
Ever since, GDR Labs has incorporated this truly outstanding component, as it aligns perfectly with our goals.
Safe, effective and beneficial extraction.
We hope this article has clarified what D-Limonene is (without putting you to sleep), but we always recommend doing your own research!
If there is EVER anything on a label that you are not sure about, make sure to inquire with the company or turn a trusty search engine like Google and dig in.
